Health is a more important thing for human as well as for other living organism. As you heard that “Health is Wealth”, it is hundred percent true, good health is more important to be fit as well as healthy. So you should have proper healthy diet to be healthy, it no means you should eat more but it means you should take food having enough amount of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. These all are most important to take as a food substances.

If we talk about Vitamins and minerals then these are organic food substances that are essential for proper functioning of our body. There are different kinds of vitamins such as Vitamin A, Vitamin B-complex, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, and Vitamin K. Minerals are also different kinds that help our body in different ways and a deficiency of the needed minerals cause harm to the function of our body. Vitamins and minerals are present is the food we eat daily. There are different kinds of food that are rich of certain kinds of minerals. Let’s take a look at some minerals, their sources and functions.

-Sodium: Sodium helps transmissions in nerve impulse and in contraction of muscles; it also balances fluids and electrolytes. It consume by having soy sauce, bread, meats, milk and salt.

-Potassium: Potassium is also important for human body to uphold the integrity of cells, balance of electrolytes and fluids, transmission of nerve impulse and contractions of muscles. You can take it by having daily food stuffs such as Potatoes, acorn squash, spinach, carrots, artichoke, broccoli, green beans, tomato juice, grapefruit juice, strawberries, avocado, watermelon, banana, cod and milk.
